New horizons for cooperation of Tatarstan and Israel

The Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, Taliya Minullina, had a business visit to Moscow Region. A meeting with the Chargeable ad interim of the State of Israel in the Russian Federation, Jacob Livne, took place at the Authorized Representative Office of the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Prime-minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – the Authorized Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation – Ravil Akhmetshin, Director of Economy Department (of Asia and CIS countries) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Mikhael Lotem, the First Secretary of the Political Department of the Embassy of the State of Israel, Eli Levi, and the Head of the Trade and Economic Representative Office of the Embassy of the State of Israel in Russia, Yakir Davidson.

The parties discussed issued of the further development and enhancement of relations between Israel and Tatarstan as a result of the visit of Jacob Livne to Tatarstan and his negotiations with the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. In February this year, Jacob Livne visited the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, the town of Innopolis, where he studies activities of the Special Economic Zone of Innopolis and the University of Innopolis.

There are many opportunities to enhance the cooperation of Tatarstan and Israel, they refer both economic relations, and fields of culture, education, and tourism. In 2019, the first investor from Israel was engaged in many years of work. In the grounds of the Special Economic Zone of Innopolis, NNG company initiated a project to develop and to implement software solutions for automobile industry with the scope of investments of 689 Mio Ruble. The software will enable clients to obtain a new level of topographic orientation using high technologies and will apply a new level of the information security to the automobile industry.

Taliya Minullina conducted a presentation of the trade, economic and investment potential of the region and noted that Tatarstan is an innovative Republic, while Rustam Minnikhanov presides the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia.

As a result of the negotiations, the Israeli party suggested that a visit of the Tatarstan delegation to Israel should be arranged.

“We a pleased to develop the friendly relations between Russia and Israel. Tatarstan and Israel have a high potential to enhance the cooperation, to increase the commodity exchange. We will perform business missions and will work to increase investment flows,” Taliya Minullina shared.
