Investment and export potential of Tatarstan will be presented in Germany and the U.S.
Linar Yakupov presented the results of the working visit of the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan headed by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2013) through the work of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency to journalists at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan.
At the briefing also toke part The Assistant of the President on Economic Affairs Ayrat Khayrullin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Minister of Information and Communication of the Republic of Tatarstan Roman Shaikhutdinov, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Zdunov.
As the Assistant of the President of Tatarstan Ayrat Khayrullin said, in the forum Minnikhanov met and held business meetings with top managers of several companies: JSC "INTER RAO UES”, Runa Capital, MasterCard, Google, ABB, IBM. Tatarstan President also took part in the meeting of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR), where he was re-elected as the chairman of the Board of AIRR.
Roman Shaikhutdinov presented the details of the President of the Tatarstan Republic’s meetings with companies IBM, MasterCard, SAP, Google, noting that ministry works with Google for a few months. The Minister also noted that in the framework of SPIEF 2013 it was decided to implement a number of projects with Google in education sphere, reckoned for both young people and the elderly. Now there is a study of the issue about opening a temporary Google office in Kazan.
Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov on a briefing told to reporters about meetings of President of the Republic of Tatarstan with Thomson Reuters, the members of the delegation of North Rhine State - Westphalia of Federal Republic Germany (FRG) and the Deputy Minister of Commerce Francisco Sanchez.
"During the meeting the President of the Republic of Tatarstan signed a protocol with the company on the current state of cooperation between Thomson Reuters and Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan", - said Linar Yakupov. – “The document shows the work carried out in pursuance of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and Thomson Reuters, which was signed during the meeting of Minnikhanov and Thomson Reuters at the III Annual Investment Forum - Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) in Dubai”.
TIDA Chief Executive also said that the protocol confirms the company's interest in the opening of Thomson Reuters Intellectual Property Center at the Kazan Smart City platform. According to the document before the end of the year Thomson Reuters will open an office in Kazan, which will move into the territory of Kazan Smart City after the completion of construction at the platform the first objects. Working visit of Thomson Reuters in Kazan in pursuance of the Memorandum, added Linar Yakupov, was on 17-18 June 2013. During the visit, representatives of the Thomson Reuters held a series of meetings with Tatarstan companies and met with members of the working groups, established in pursuance of the Memorandum. The results of his two-day working visit to Kazan Thomson Reuters presented to the President of Tatarstan on SPIEF 2013.
During a regular visit to Kazan on 24 June 2013 Thomson Reuters presented its capabilities and services for raw and energy companies of the Republic of Tatarstan in the framework of the Board of Directors of "Tatneftekhiminvest-holding" meeting.
As told Linar Yakupov, on the basis of the meeting of the Tatarstan Republic President with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy Gunter Hortsetki and members of the delegation of the federal state of North Rhine - Westphalia (Germany) TIDA was asked to organize the presentation of investment and export potential of Tatarstan for the business community of the federal land in the course of his visit to Germany in July 2013.
Investment and export potential of Tatarstan will also be presented during a working visit of TIDA to the United States: Tatarstan Investment Development Agency in conjunction with the trade representative of the Russian Federation and the United States Trade Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the United States responsible for organizing the presentation and building relationships with U.S. businesses.
Artem Zdunov during a briefing presented the details of the TIDA’s meeting and spoke about signing cooperation agreements between TIDA, the Republic of Tatarstan and Vnesheconombank.
