The first tons of premium propylene were obtained at the new EP-600 olefin complex of Nizhnekamskneftekhim. SIBUR completed its construction in December 2024.
The products were sent to the polypropylene production facility located at NKNH.
The EP-600 olefin complex is the largest project to create new capacities in the modern history of the petrochemical industry of Tatarstan, and it is also one of the key projects for the industry on a national scale. Investments in the project amounted to about 200 billion rubles.
The commissioning of the complex doubled NKNH's capacity for the production of ethylene and its derivatives. The raw material for the new unit is straight-run gasoline produced by oil refining enterprises in Tatarstan. Its annual consumption volume will exceed 1.8 million tons. EP-600 products will be used in existing and future production facilities of NKNKH and Kazanorgsintez and will ensure the further development of the Volga petrochemical cluster.
