"Investment Hour" with the city of Kazan
The city of Kazan, the Republic of Tatarstan reported on the implementation of measures to ensure sustainable socio-economic development within the framework of the republican meeting chaired by the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
Such meetings are held on a weekly basis in the Government House of the Republic. The report of the mayor of the city examines the main indicators of the district's activities, the development of industries, the state of entrepreneurship, the level of wages and unemployment, the pace of construction of social infrastructure and housing, education, achievements in a variety of areas.
The mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin reported that investment activity is an important factor in economic growth. According to estimates for 2024, they are expected to amount to 389 billion rubles - 38 billion more than in 2023.
Ilsur Metshin: "We pay special attention to maintaining a favorable investment climate in Kazan. Here are some examples:
- the project of Aviation Interiors LLC on the territory of Technopolis Khimgrad for the production of aircraft interior kits with an investment volume of 1.8 billion rubles, created 100 jobs.
- the multifunctional complex ART Center in the residential complex ArtCity on Nikolay Ershov Street with an investment volume of 1.3 billion rubles - 235 jobs).
As part of the public-private partnership, the construction of the sports and recreation complex FIZRA Sports Center next to the Salavat Kupere residential complex has begun at a cost of 352.5 million rubles.
In addition, we have begun the renovation of the Soviet legacy - the largest markets in the city of Kazan. Next year, the Moscow Market will be transformed into a modern public and retail space with a food truck area, a bistro, a site with an amphitheater for lectures, concerts and charity events. The renovation project for the Chekhov Market has been approved. One of its features will be an internal square with galleries, not only for trade, but also for cultural events. A project for the reconstruction of the Privolzhsky Market is being prepared. Agricultural fairs continue to operate at 14 sites.
Our capital has a unique geographical potential for the development of water tourism and coastal infrastructure. For these purposes, since 2023, the City Development Institute has been working on the concept of "Kazan - a city on the water". One of the main locations is the Lokomotiv Peninsula - the water gate of the city. In 2024, dozens of projects were considered, including the construction of a city marina, water sports facilities and municipal berths.
Among the large ones, I will note the implementation of the water recreation complex project along the Kirov Dam. The project roadmap was agreed upon and approved by you, Rustam Nurgalievich. This project provides for:
- a 5-star boutique hotel, a thermal complex, a swimming pool complex with food outlets and a tourist multifunctional center.
It is also worth noting the construction of the mega-park "Bolshaya Volga" on the territory of silt fields and the restaurant complex "Kubelek" on the bank of the Kazanka.
The implementation of these projects will allow the city to increase the number of landscaped public spaces near the water, open new tourist products and form an industry for servicing and operating small-sized fleet. This is fully consistent with international trends and the agenda of the world's leading cities near the water. We will present this project to the world community at the IV International Architectural and Construction Forum "Kazanysh: Unity of Diversity," said the mayor of Kazan.
