Will Tatarstan produce new medicines?

Today, December 28, the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan held a meeting of the Council for the pharmaceutical industry in Tatarstan, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Vasil Shayhraziev. In particular, the meeting was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, JSC "Tatkhimpharmpreparaty" CEO.

"There are a lot of issues in the pharmaceutical industry. Today, we also discussed the modernization of equipment and the problems of competition of local manufacturers with foreign giants, and as a specific example examined the difficulties in drugs import substitution. We have made a decision to be meet once a month, now we are forming the agenda for 2016," said Taliya Minullina.

Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive during the meeting made a report on cooperation with the Finnish company on the production of new drugs.

The project idea came after business meetings in November within the visit of the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan headed by President Rustam Minnikhanov in Finland.

The first drug used to treat congestive heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, myocardial infarction; a second drug - for the treatment of connective tissue diseases, acute and chronic inflammatory joint diseases, acute rheumatic fever, bronchial asthma, renal disease; and the third product is intended for use in the ICU (intensive care and anesthesia), has sedative, analgesic and anesthetic effect.

This project now is under discussion and negotiation. At the beginning of 2016 is expected the visit of the company's management to conduct detailed negotiations on the terms of cooperation.
