“Constructive business relationships have formed between Tatarstan and Japan”- reported Taliya Minullina, Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, during the briefing at Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers on March 9.
She also noted that trade turnover amounted in $111 million in 2015, showing 4, 5% increase in comparison with last year. She highlighted in more details the visit of Tatarstan delegation to Japan, from 29 February to 2 March 2016.
In reporting on business-mission to Japan, Taliya Minullina emphasized, that infrastructure projects, alternative sources of energy, logistics and transport in Russia are the most promising for Japanese business people. Over the last ten years, the trade turnover between two countries increased fourfold. According to their opinion, accepted also by representatives of Russian delegation, not really good regulatory environment has formed: complicated juridical system, procurement of permission and manufacturing of documents takes much time.
Japan is the third economic power in the world after the US and China. Japan's share of world GDP totals to 7.9 percent. The country enters the top ten investors in Russia.
“Tatarstan and Japan have established very constructive relationships. Significant number of joint projects is implemented. Ammonia project is one of the largest projects. Mitsui company has also implemented large-scale projects in the petrochemical industry in conjunction with the Orgsintez and TAIF. The Mitsui group of companies involves one of the largest engineering companies, Toyo Engineering Corporation. Several chemical plants were designed in cooperation with company. Iida Sangyo investment project, engaged in building of fast-erected wooden houses, is discussed close to the object and exactly. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov entitled the Agency to find a piece of land for demonstration house to be built. Company office will settle particularly in that house. This is the case, when big brand makes a good start for aligning small and medium sized business and attract other serious brands to Tatarstan. If we proceed effectively in this direction, of course, we hope that it will take us to new interesting projects” – declared Taliya Minullina.
Besides the point, Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency added that according to the forecasts, share of GDP of Asian countries in the global economy will be 50% in 2020. The East will take an honorable place alongside with the West, match in weight of its wallet and seriousness of its intentions.
