Tatarstan and Pakistan are building economic partnership

Pakistani delegation, comprising seven heads of the leading companies of the Islamic Republic, headed by the Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation in Pakistan, Managing Director of «Habib Rafiq International (Pvt.) Ltd» Habib Ahmad, undertook an official visit to Tatarstan at the end of last week.

Traditionally, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency hosted a reception of honored guests. The meeting took place in the office of the Agency, where Taliya Minullina presented investment potential of the republic, special economic zones, technology parks and the territories of advanced development, presented existing investment projects in several areas. An important topic of discussion was the food cluster of Tatarstan, combining poultry, meat-processing and other plants of the republic.  In addition, the Head of the Agency invited the guests from Pakistan to take part in the forthcoming International Economic Summit of Russia and OIC countries «KazanSummit2017». 

The delegation of the Islamic Republic aroused high appreciation of the hospitality and expressed the hope to see the greater joint cooperation between Pakistan and Tatarstan. Moreover, there is high interest of Pakistan in Russian sales market, for meat especially. Wholesale supply of "khalal" meat products in Russian Federation is in work plans of foreign manufacturers.

In the framework of the recent working visit, meetings with a number of government authorities, including Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the republic, were held. Also, the delegation of Pakistan visited Naberezhnye Chelny to negotiate with OJSC "Kamaz" and met representatives of JCS"Ammoni" in Mendeleevsk.

The official visit of the delegation of Pakistan headed by the State Minister, Chief Executive of the Trade Development Authority of the Pakistan Ministry of Commerce Shaikh Muhammad Muneer which took place in Tatarstan in June this year, is worth mentioning. During the recent visit, the parties agreed to set up a working group for mutual relationship development.

"What did you have for lunch today? Healthy human body is like a favorable investment climate: once capital investment are right, the feedback is decent. In this sense, "khalal" meat products are a kind of example of quality, - Taliya Minullina stated. - It was mutual shipment of "khalal" products that became the central theme of the past negotiations with our potential partners from Pakistan. Currently, the turnover makes USD 30 million only now, so there is a lot to be done to build the base for investment activity".
