Thomson Reuters Reaffirms Intentions to Open Office in Kazan Smart City

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Tatarstan Investment Devleopment Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov met with Thomson Reuters President of Financial & Risk and Managing Director of the Middle East, Africa & Russia Basil Moftah today at the 17th Annual St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
During the meeting, a protocol was signed outlining the current state of cooperation between Thomson Reuters and the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency (TIDA).
The protocol summarizes the accomplishments and commitments both sides have made since signing a memorandum of cooperation in Thomson Reuters Dubai office on 1 May. In signing the memorandum, Thomson Retuers became an information partner of Kazan Smart City and expressed its interest in opening an intellectual property center in the new development.
In the protocol signed today, Thomson Reuters commits to opening an office in Kazan by the end of this year, stipulating that this office will be moved to Kazan Smart City when office space is present there.
The meeting in St. Petersburg comes days after a two-day working visit that Thomson Reuters made to Kazan on 17-18 June. During that visit, the company met with TIDA, government ministries, and several Tatarstan companies.
