Today representatives of Siemens and Tatarstan Investment Development Agency signed an agreement of intent. The agreement will let the sides to specify the prospects for cooperation and mutual information and technical support on the implementation of SMART City Kazan project. It was signed in Moscow by Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov and the CEO of Siemens in Russia and Central Asia Dietrich Muller.
The psrties agreed to cooperate on the concept development of smart and energy-efficient infrastructure provision of a new satellite city - SMART City Kazan, including energy generation, distribution and consumption systems, smart networks construction, logistics systems, building automation and security, and other «Siemens» solutions. Siemens and TIDA intend to cooperate at every stage of SMART City Kazan project implementation.
Today , representatives of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency (TIDA) met with the leading companies in the field of consumer electronics production and investors , who are implementing their projects in the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Head of TIDA Insaf Galiyev, Volga region’s representative of "Panasonic Rus" Nazhiya Khamitova, Head of «Philips» in the Republic of Tatarstan Nail Zaripov, LLC "Yokogawa Electric CIS" Kazan’s office director Alexei Anokhin, as well as «ICL-KPO VS"‘s Director of Human Resources and Quality Anatoly Artamonov.
The participants of the meeting discussed the possibility to allocate the local production and R & D centers of foreign companies in the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as the perspective cooperation with TIDA in order to source them with highly-qualified workforces.
Today, Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov met with the Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia His Excellency Dato 'Seri Mustapa Mohamed. Representatives of Presidential Department of External Relations of the Republic of Tatarstan, Aide to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan on Foreign Economic Activities, experts of Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation, Deputy Chief Executive of Malaysia Investment Development Authority and head of the Economic and Trade Relations Department of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia participated at the event.
Today the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with Malaysian consortium, which includes AMANAH Capital Group Company and Straits Consulting Engineers, with the largest conglomerate of the United Arab Emirates - TECOM Investments and a representative of Siemens. These companies have extensive experience on successful implementation of “smart city” projects in several countries. Siemens provides "smart" infrastructure technologies for the realization of “smart city” projects.
Tatarstan Investment Development Agency informs that the V Russian-Japanese Investment Forum will be held in Kazan on 6-7 June, 2012. The event is organized by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan. The main aim of the Forum is the development of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Japan.
On 26-27 May, within Entrepreneurs Day the IV Cycle Marathon is being held. More than 30 heads of Kazan small and medium-size enterprises gathered together to ride on the “Alekseevskoye – Bazarniye Mataki – Bulgar” route. Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov participated at the event and rode the distance of 14 kilometers from the Kargopol village of Alkeevsk region to Bazarniye Mataki.

Today there was an opening ceremony of KAZANSUMMIT 2012: Economic cooperation of Russia and the OIC member countries. A huge number of guests from more than 30 countries, the regions of the Russian Federation, potential investors and business owners gathered together in the capital city of Tatarstan. Summit was traditionally opened with reading of Holly Quran.
According to Linar Yakupov, the Chairman of the KAZANSUMMIT Organizing Committee and Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, in four years of existence the number of participants and joint projects has significantly increased.
Today representatives of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency headed by Chief Executive of the Agency Linar Yakupov met with a vice-president of Panasonic Rus Masato Nakamura.
According to Masato Nakamura, the Japanese company is interested in further business development in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. The Centre of Technical Solutions of Panasonic Company was opened in Kazan in 2010. The key objectives of the Centre include: training of corporate users and IT-professionals of Tatarstan companies, design, project maintenance and support, as well as demonstration of showroom equipment possibilities. Masato Nakamura claimed that today the company is looking for new project opportunities in Tatarstan.
