The first meeting of the Investment Council of the Republic of Tatarstan was held at the Tatarstan Government House under the guidance of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
Investment Council of the Republic of Tatarstan was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan on July 5, 2012 in order to implement such Laws as "About foreign investments in the Republic of Tatarstan", "About investment activity in the Republic of Tatarstan", as well as improving the investment climate in the Republic of Tatarstan. The Council is a collegial advisory body for attracting investments into the economy of the Republic of Tatarstan. Chairman of the Investment Council is the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
TIDA met with representatives of SWARCO AG today. Among those present at the meeting were TIDA Chief Executive Linar Yakupov and Alexander Swarovski, vice president of the Austrian company.
SWARCO is a growing international group that supplies a complete range of products, services, and solutions for road marking, signaling, signage and traffic management. The company is currently helping implement an intelligent traffic control system that is to be launched in Kazan before the beginning of the 2013 Summer Universiade.

The forum was held within a large scale PR campaign, entitled INVEST in TATARSTAN, which is aimed to promote the Republic of Tatarstan as an attractive investment destination and a number-one gateway to Russia and the CIS countries.
The event gathered together over 150 representatives of the world business community, heads of major international companies, banks and investment funds.

Today the improved concept of SMART City Kazan master plan was presented to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov within the VII Russian-Singapore Business Forum.
The project was developed by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and Malaysian Consortium comprised of AJM Planning and Urban Design Group, Straits Consulting Engineers and Amanah Capital Group Limited.

On the second day of the workshop Siemens made a presentation about eco-friendly and energy efficient technologies they have been utilizing on other “smart” projects. Moreover, Siemens Enterprise Communications shared their global experience of creating harmonized user experience using the innovative software platforms and integrating them into the "smart" projects.
