October 10 a delegation of the Government of St. Petersburg visited the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.

The delegation consisted from St. Petersburg Agency for Strategic Investments Deputy CEO Anton Savenko, Chairman of the Committee on Industrial Policy and Innovation Maxim Meyksin, Head of Investment Policy and Innovation Committee on Industrial Policy and Innovation Rima Sachunova, Committee for Enterprise Development and the consumer market First Deputy Chairman Konstantin Krasnenko and Committee on Information and Communication Head of the Department of Research Tatiana Golovanova.

In October, the first meeting of the Architecture Council of Kazan Smart City was held in the office of Tatarstan Development Corporation (TDC) - the operator of the new investment platform of Tatarstan.

The meeting was attended by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov, Tatarstan Development Corporation CEO Bulat Gayanov, Chief Architect of Kazan City Tatiana Prokofieva, Chief Architect of Kazan Smart City Norliza Hashim, and Architect of Tatarstan Development Corporation Elmira Nizamieva.

The Architecture Council of Kazan Smart City promotes the using of "green" building technologies, which meets with the modern Russian and international standards and requirements. The council also oversees the design process of architectural objects in Kazan Smart City and their compliance to the general concept of the future city.

During the V International Economic Summit of Russia and OIC countries were signed seven agreements, five of them - as part of the latest trend of the world, the ambitious project of the Republic of Tatarstan - Kazan Smart City.

On October 2-3 Kazan held the 5th summit of cooperation between Russia and OIC countries. The summit took place at the site of the International Information Centre (Universiade Village).

Summit has begun from a business lunch of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. Moderator of the morning meeting, which was attended by representatives of major Russian and foreign companies of the world, was ​​ Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov.

President of Tatarstan held about ten meetings with official delegations of the Islamic world on KazanSummit 2013. Together with the President of the Republic of Tatarstan participated Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Ilyas Umakhanov and Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov.

With the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan Sayed Nayar Hussain Bokhari head of state discussed the possibility of trade cooperation, opportunities in supplying vehicles, ships, helicopters, equipment and compressors.

At a meeting with a delegation from Qatar, headed by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade of the State of Qatar Sultan Al Khater Minnikhanov said that «KazanSummit - is the gateway to Russia for the Islamic world."

On Saturday, October 5 in all regions of the Russian Federation held an action on the augmentation of the most valuable natural resource - forests.
The "Live forest!" action’s aim is to draw public attention to the problems of restoration of forest resources. 10 million trees will be planted in Tatarstan during the autumn.
Employees of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency took part in the planting of seedlings near the village of Sandy Kovali.

The exhibition includes Malaysia, Thailand, India, Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, more than 30 regions of Russia, including the Republic of Tatarstan.

On the eve the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan opened the International Exhibition - Euro-Asia Expo 2013, which brought together over 130 participants from eight countries. The most significant part of the exhibition is belongs to the companies from Malaysia - 31 exhibitors and the Republic of Tatarstan - 50 exhibitors.

Strategic Forum was held at the International Economic Summit of Russia and OIC countries (KazanSummit 2013).  Traditionally it began with the reading of the Holy Koran, which performed the Mufti of the Republic of Tatarstan Kamil hazrat Samigullin.

The International Economic Summit, held in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan on October 2-3, ended with the practical steps in strengthening the bilateral economic relations between Russia and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries. The forum was attended by representatives of international organizations, domestic and foreign financial institutions, foreign diplomatic missions, investors and businessmen from 43 countries, 150 media representatives.

A world expert in energy management - Schneider Electric and Tatarstan Development Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

According to the document, the parties will cooperate in the implementation of the Kazan Smart City project that will provide a comfortable environment for the development of service industry, business, education, and high-tech manufacturing.

The signing ceremony was held during the Strategic Forum of the V International Economic Summit of Russia and OIC countries (KazanSummit 2013). The agreement was signed by Tatarstan Development Corporation CEO Bulat Gayanov and Schneider Electric "The projects through partners" Vice-president Oleg Goncharov.

The total amount of the investments is about $ 1 billion. The signing took place during one of the main events of the V International Summit of Russia and OIC countries - Strategic Forum "Practical steps to strengthen bilateral economic relations between Russia and OIC countries."

The first - the amount of 760 million dollars agreement was signed between the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and Tatarstan Gulf Investment Company (TGIC) on the development of commercial real estate in Kazan Smart City. Document was signed by TIDA Chief Executive Linar Yakupov and TGIC CEO Khaled Al Jassim.

The groundbreaking ceremony of a new investment platform was attended by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Ilyas Umakhanov, Chief Architect Norliza Hashim, Chairman of Tatarstan Gulf Investment Company Khaled Al Jassim and the Head of Laishevsky region Mikhail Afanasyev.

The construction of the new business hub of Russia - International Investment technopolis Kazan Smart City began on October 2 as part of the V International Economic Summit of Russia and OIC countries (KazanSummit 2013).
