Voting for moving of the head office of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) took place during the meeting of the General Assembly of the organization at the annual WAIPA International Investment Conference.

Proposal to change the location of the headquarters was announced in January at a meeting of the WAIPA Steering Committee, which was held from 23 to 24 January 2014 in the legislative capital of South Africa – Cape Town.

At a meeting in Cape Town discussed the results of the association in 2013, the strategy for the promotion of WAIPA within the conferences and events in 2014, the plan of the organization this year and prospects of WAIPA for the period until 2015. The motto of the WAIPA new strategy is «Moving Forward!».

In discussions: investment attractiveness of the Russian market, the criteria for selecting the region, as well as the main challenges of attracting foreign and Russian investment in terms of power and investors.

Business forum of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is a part of the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors, which is this year holds in Warsaw. In the meeting of the Board of Governors and the «Investment potential of Russian regions» session by the invitation of the EBRD's Russia Managing Director participates Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov.

In addition to discussions about the investment attractiveness of the Russian market, the criteria for selecting the region, attraction of foreign and Russian investment in terms of power and investors, participants will discuss the priorities of the federal government and the Russian regions to improve the investment climate.

World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) will support the VI International Economic Summit of Russia and OIC countries (KazanSummit 2014), which will be held in Kazan and will be a partner in foreign direct investment (FDI).

Discussion of partnership issues held at the WAIPA annual conference (WAIPA World Investment Conference) in Istanbul, where as Director of WAIPA Eastern Europe participates Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.

The organization, which includes 168 investment agencies from 122 countries of the world, the second time will attend the World Economic Summit of Russia and OIC countries. Last year WAIPA co-organized forum on investment promotion within KazanSummit 2013, the successful holding of which was the result of continued cooperation with the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies. In 2014 KazanSummit will be attended by WAIPA Executive Director Carlos Bronzatto.

Launching ceremony of the pipe production with the participation of President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, RMA founder Siegfried Truttenbah, and RMA owner Andreas Truttenbah held today at the site of a special economic zone «Alabuga».

RMA Pipeline Equipment Factory on Alabuga, the main products which are ball valves for pipelines – the largest enterprise of RMA groups. After reaching the design capacity here will be produced not less than 11 thousand pieces per year. Investment in the project is 1.7 billion rubles; the plant will create 645 jobs.

«PMA Rus» in the Republic of Tatarstan will produce a wide range of pipeline equipment for the oil and gas industry both in Russia and abroad.

In the annual event of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA World Investment Conference) Tatarstan Investment Development Agency participates as WAIPA Eastern Europe Regional Director.

Conference, the main event of WAIPA, takes place in the largest city of the Republic of Turkey – Istanbul – from 13 to 15 May. The event includes a meeting of the Steering Committee (the executive body of the WAIPA General Assembly, whose task is to plan and implement the development strategy of the organization) and WAIPA General Assembly.

Participants of WAIPA World Investment Conference to discuss the strategy of investment promotion, mechanisms for attracting investments, searching for new contacts and ideas, international and interregional cooperation, as well as the integration of regional agencies in the international investment community.

In Tatarstan Investment Development Agency began accepting of investment projects that will be presented at the VI International Economic Summit in Russia and OIC countries – KazanSummit 2014.

Acceptance of Tatarstan investment projects for presentation at the KazanSummit 2014 is based on the eight priority areas of region's development: chemical and petrochemical industries; engineering and manufacturing of automotive components; construction and building materials, agriculture and agro-processing, IT-industry and telecommunications; «halal» industry; medicine and pharmacy; service and tourism.

After review and consideration of applications will be selected top 50 investment projects that will be presented at the International Economic Summit. KazanSummit allows project proponents to tell more about their business ideas in bilateral meetings with interested investors. The selected projects will be also included in a catalog of investment projects, which each summit's participant will receive.

At the KIP «Master» site opened a plant of a world leader in innovative technologies producing locking systems for various cars – Kiekert AG.

The ceremony was attended by Kiekert AG Executive Vice President Jürgen Rudolph Poilen, Kiekert RUS CEO Alexander Conson, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive First Deputy Robert Galiullin, Naberezhnye Chelny Head of the executive committee Farhad Latypov.

As Jurgen Poilen noted the German manufacturer has 1200 proprietary products and the company is continually investing in new technologies. The company, whose plants are located in Germany, the Czech Republic, the USA, Mexico, China and now in Russia, employing over 5,000 employees. Among the Kiekert AG clients – more than 50 car brands: Mercedes, Renoult/Nissan, Ford, Daimler, BMW, Fiat/Chrysler, General Motors. The total turnover of the company in 2014 will exceed 650 million euro. The share of Kiekert AG on the market of auto parts is 18%.

KIP «Master» industrial park resident begins production of automotive door locks on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The decision on the localization of production in Russia, the world leader in automotive locks adopted in 2012 and reviewed several Russian regions. During the active work with Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Kiekert decided to choose the Republic of Tatarstan, and in particular, KIP «Master» site.

Youth Ambassadors will be actively involved in organizing and holding the major activities of the VI International Economic Summit in Russia and OIC countries (KazanSummit 2014).

June 5-6 guests and participants of the main business platform of cooperation of the Russian Federation and the Islamic countries will meet again with the young ambassadors, whose work in the organization and holding of another important events of the Republic of Tatarstan – II International winter forum «Invest in Tatarstan» was highly valued.

At a meeting with the leadership of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency discussed the cooperation of Youth Ambassadors and Kazan Global shapers communities of World Economic Forum. They shared their impressions of the work at the site of the winter forum, expressed their wishes and comments on the organization and holding of such activities.
