To the Tatarstan delegation showed factory of producing a high-voltage transformers, where produces transformers with operating voltage up to 1 million volts. Here is the laboratory for finished products testing - cables and transformers. The plant employs 2,000 people; the total number of TBEA employees is 20,000. The plant is located near the residential quarters for employees, developed social infrastructure with parks and fitness centers.

Presentation of the potential of the region took place during the visit of Tatarstan delegation headed by Rustam Minnikhanov to China.

Presentation of investment and economic potential of the republic was visited by about 170 representatives of Chinese companies, it was attended by heads of the leading enterprises of Tatarstan, representatives of ministries and departments.

The event opened Deputy Chairman of Government of Xinjiang-Uygur Autonomous Region Shi Dagang. Welcoming the participants, he underscored, that in July planned a visit of the delegation of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region business circles to Tatarstan.

Business program of Tatarstan’s delegation visit in China started today with a visit to areas of innovation and economic development in Urumqi, created in 1992 by order of the China State Council, located in Urumqi.

The delegation of the region includes the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan on international activities Radik Gimatdinov, JSC «Tatneft» CEO Nail Maganov, JSC «TAIF» Board of Directors Chairman Rustem Sulteev, JSC «Tatneftekhiminvest-holding» CEO Raffinat Yarullin and Chairman of Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Tatarstan Shamil Ageev.

The total planned area of Urumqi innovation and economic development zone will be 480 square kilometers, including area for industrial enterprises, which will be 133 square kilometers.

Options for the fund, as well as a possible structure for the future company were discussed in the meeting of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov and Islamic Corporation for Private Sector Development regional division (Asia) CEO Ahmed Khalid.

As an example, the parties discussed the business model of the Malaysia pilgrims’ fund.

«Every year the number of people in Tatarstan, traveling to Hajj, increases and the issue of creating such a fund is very relevant today, - underscored Linar Yakupov. - Such a fund would allow people to save funds, and after accumulating sufficient money, go to Hajj to fulfill their religious duty».

During the first day of Annual Investment Meeting 2014 representatives of the region met with Dubai World Central (DWC) Vice President Takhnun Saif.

The discussions were attended by Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Radik Gimatdinov, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov, Tatarstan Development Corporation CEO Bulat Gayanov, JSC «Special Economic Zone «Innopolis» CEO Igor Nosov, Head of Laishevsky municipal district Michail Afanasyev, «Kazan» international airport CEO Aleksey Starostin.

It was noted that for the Republic of Tatarstan the experience of Dubai World Central is interesting from the standpoint of the world's practice of creating and development of «airopolis» models. In particular, during the meeting Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov told about the Kazan Smart City project.

The opening ceremony was held today at the «Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre».

The purpose of the forum, which will be held from 8 to 10 April 2014 in the «Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre», is to provide the greatest interaction and exchange of best practices, stimulate business and investment.

The conference, which will be held in the republic on April 23-24, 2014, organized by The Technopolicy Network, Ministry of Economic Development of Russia and the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR).
