On 25 February, Naberezhye Chelny will host the 2013 Kama Investment Forum. Organized by the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, the forum will serve as an important platform for developing investment into the Kama Innovation Cluster, which was formed in Tatarstan as part of a pilot program to develop innovation clusters across Russia.

The Kama Investment Forum will be the first of six regional investment forums TIDA plans on holding in 2013. Naberezhnye Chelny is Tatarstan's second largest city.

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting today to discuss the realization of the project SMART City Kazan.

Government officials and heads of Tatarstan’s leading companies took part in the meeting, which was held in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Opening the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that SMART City Kazan plays a strategic role in the further development of Kazan into an international megapolis. “This project is a key driver for the development of our capital,” he said. “It is one of the most attractive points of development that we have, and the one with the most potential.”

The fifth annual Asian Financial Forum (AFF) was held in Hong Kong on 14 and 15 January.

The two-day event sees the most-renowned experts of the global financial and business community, private investors and high net-worth individuals, and government officials gather to discuss trends and developments in Asian markets.

Representing the Republic of Tatarstan at the AFF was Linar Yakupov, Chief Executive of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency (TIDA). TIDA was the only regional Russian authority to participate in this year’s forum.

Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation, arrived in Malaysia yesterday as part of a three-day official visit designed to promote and expand bilateral relations in trade, investment, IT, biotechnology, and higher education between Malaysia and Tatarstan.

Accompanying the Tatarstan President is a delegation including more than 40 Tatarstan business, education, and government officials. Among those in the delegation are Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov; Tatarstan Minister of Education and Science Engel Fattakhov; Tatarstan Investment and Venture Fund CEO Aynur Aydeldinov; Ak Bars Holding Director Ivan Egorov; and the rectors of Kazan National Research Technological University, Kazan Medical University, Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering, and Russian Islamic University. Accompanying the Tatarstan delegation is Liudmila Vorobyeva, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Malaysia.

The first meeting of the Investment Council of the Republic of Tatarstan was held at the Tatarstan Government House under the guidance of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

Investment Council of the Republic of Tatarstan was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan on July 5, 2012  in order to implement such Laws as "About foreign investments in the Republic of Tatarstan", "About investment activity in the Republic of Tatarstan", as well as improving the investment climate in the Republic of Tatarstan. The Council is a collegial advisory body for attracting investments into the economy of the Republic of Tatarstan. Chairman of the Investment Council is the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

TIDA met with representatives of SWARCO AG today. Among those present at the meeting were TIDA Chief Executive Linar Yakupov and Alexander Swarovski, vice president of the Austrian company.

SWARCO is a growing international group that supplies a complete range of products, services, and solutions for road marking, signaling, signage and traffic management. The company is currently helping implement an intelligent traffic control system that is to be launched in Kazan before the beginning of the 2013 Summer Universiade.

A press conference about the upcoming International Winter Forum will be held at 10 a.m., 7 December, at TatMedia (2 ulitsa Akademicheskaya) with the participation of  TIDA Chief Executive Linar Yakupov.

The International Winter Forum INVEST in TATARSTAN – an exclusive, invitation-only event organized by the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency (TIDA) under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan – will be held at the Kazan Ski Resort on 14 and 15 December 2012.

Today TIDA met with representatives of the Russian Postal Service to discuss the possibility of opening an automated sorting center in Tatarstan.

Today TIDA Chief Executive Linar Yakupov met with a Vietnamese delegation headed by Pham Xuan Son, Vietnam Ambassador to the Russian Federation.  

The Vietnamese guests noted that Tatarstan and Vietnam have a long history of collaboration. “We must make good use of the potential of our respective republics to strengthen the yield of our collaborative efforts and future partnership.

Today, Tatarstan delegation headed by President of the republic Rustam Minikhanov participated in «Investment Opportunities in Tatarstan» investment forum, which was held in London, Great Britain. The President was accompanied by Chief Executive of  Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov,  Board Chairman of JSC Ak bars Bank Robert Minnegaliev, Director General of Alabuga Special Economic Zone Timur Shagivaleev, Aide to the Tatarstan President Radik Gimatdinov, Aide to the Tatarstan President Airat Nurutdinov and others. The event was organized by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency in partnership with CNBC Creative Solutions. 

The forum was held within a large scale PR campaign, entitled INVEST in TATARSTAN, which is aimed to promote the Republic of Tatarstan as an attractive investment destination and a number-one gateway to Russia and the CIS countries. 

The event gathered together over 150 representatives of the world business community, heads of major international companies, banks and investment funds.
