On 25 February, Naberezhye Chelny will host the 2013 Kama Investment Forum. Organized by the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, the forum will serve as an important platform for developing investment into the Kama Innovation Cluster, which was formed in Tatarstan as part of a pilot program to develop innovation clusters across Russia.
The Kama Investment Forum will be the first of six regional investment forums TIDA plans on holding in 2013. Naberezhnye Chelny is Tatarstan's second largest city.
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting today to discuss the realization of the project SMART City Kazan.
Government officials and heads of Tatarstan’s leading companies took part in the meeting, which was held in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Opening the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that SMART City Kazan plays a strategic role in the further development of Kazan into an international megapolis. “This project is a key driver for the development of our capital,” he said. “It is one of the most attractive points of development that we have, and the one with the most potential.”
The fifth annual Asian Financial Forum (AFF) was held in Hong Kong on 14 and 15 January.
The two-day event sees the most-renowned experts of the global financial and business community, private investors and high net-worth individuals, and government officials gather to discuss trends and developments in Asian markets.
Representing the Republic of Tatarstan at the AFF was Linar Yakupov, Chief Executive of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency (TIDA). TIDA was the only regional Russian authority to participate in this year’s forum.

The first meeting of the Investment Council of the Republic of Tatarstan was held at the Tatarstan Government House under the guidance of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
Investment Council of the Republic of Tatarstan was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan on July 5, 2012 in order to implement such Laws as "About foreign investments in the Republic of Tatarstan", "About investment activity in the Republic of Tatarstan", as well as improving the investment climate in the Republic of Tatarstan. The Council is a collegial advisory body for attracting investments into the economy of the Republic of Tatarstan. Chairman of the Investment Council is the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
TIDA met with representatives of SWARCO AG today. Among those present at the meeting were TIDA Chief Executive Linar Yakupov and Alexander Swarovski, vice president of the Austrian company.
SWARCO is a growing international group that supplies a complete range of products, services, and solutions for road marking, signaling, signage and traffic management. The company is currently helping implement an intelligent traffic control system that is to be launched in Kazan before the beginning of the 2013 Summer Universiade.
