The cooperation between India and Tatarstan has been expanding rapidly since the agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technological and cultural cooperation between the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh and Tatarstan was signed in November 2003. The pact was in line with the efforts being made by India and Russia in promoting regional level cooperation between the two countries.

In April 2010, Andhra Pradesh and Tatarstan signed a Memorandum of Understanding for promotion of joint ventures (JV) in diverse areas, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, gas-based industries, power plant equipment, bio-technology and IT. During his last visit to Tatarstan in May 2014, India’s ambassador to Russia P.S. Raghavan identified pharmaceuticals, information technologies, transport especially automobile, petro-chemicals and tourism as the sectors with considerable potential for enhancing bilateral cooperation. Currently, India’s imports from Tatarstan include synthetic rubber, trucks, helicopters, and instrument-making products. The Tatarstan import consists mainly of medical products, food, raw materials and equipment for the food-processing industry. According to INFOLine information agency, in 2013 India was among the top five trading partners for exports of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The meeting was held at the House of Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, it was attended by Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Radik Gimatdinov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov.

Welcoming the guests, Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan today as one of the industrialized regions of Russia have established contacts with the serious business of the Chinese People's Republic, representatives of many Chinese companies are already held their activities in Tatarstan. Head of the region said that Tatarstan companies also had a large number of business trips to China.

In the opening ceremony participated President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Energy Deputy Minister of Russia Cyril Molodtcov, RTN Deputy Chief Executive Svetlana Radionova, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Baymurad Hojamuhammedov, President of the Union of Oil and Gas Producers of Russia Gennady Schmal.

Traditional Tatarstan Oil and Gas chemical forum held in Kazan in 3 to 5 September. The forum is attended by 216 companies from Russia and foreign companies from 14 countries.

Signing the document was a continuation of the agreements reached in March this year during the official visit of the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan headed by Rustam Minnikhanov in Hong Kong.

Memorandum of understanding between JSC «Tatarstan Export Corporation» and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council was signed today in the seminar «Hong Kong – your enterprise platform in the Asia Pacific region».

The Tatar industrial giants Kazan Helicopter Plant and truck manufacturer Kamaz have gained an excellent name in the Indian market and have helped open the door to other companies expanding to India from Tatarstan and vice-versa.

In the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan Rüdiger von Fritsch came to participate in the opening ceremony of the German-Russian Institute of New Technologies.

During the visit, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Russian Federation attended a solemn event dedicated to the German-Russian Institute of New Technologies opening, took part in the presentation of the economic and investment potential of the Republic of Tatarstan, held at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, and also met with the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

Today CAE Expo – the main venue for the negotiations on the import of Chinese goods and investment for entrepreneurs from Russia and Central Asian countries.

The exhibition features a variety of categories of exhibited products: from sweets and traditional clothing made of natural materials to high-tech chemical products, as well as the latest achievements in the field of production, innovation, investment location, a cultural exchange.

At «Coskunoz Alabuga» will produce large and medium-metal body parts for the nearby «Ford Sollers» factory. Agreement on the start of the project was signed in October 2012 in Turkey's Bursa. The amount of investment in the creation of the company is about 70 million dollars, the plant will annually process 40,000 tons of steel.

The event with the participation of representatives of well-known Indian companies operating in the chemical and petrochemical industries, energy, agribusiness, infrastructure, oil and gas, dairy products, information technology, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, textiles, education, nano- and biotechnology, defense, exhibitions will be held on September 1 in Moscow.

The business delegation of Gujarat (India) within his working visit to the Russian Federation is headed by the Deputy Minister of Girish State Chandra Moorman. The purpose of the trip is to study the mutual business and trade opportunities between Russia and the Gujarat, as well as discussing the possibility of participation of Russian companies in the VI Summit of Vibrant Gujarat 2015, scheduled from 11 to 13 January 2015.

The parties agreed on long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation in the IT-sphere at the Kazan Smart City and the republic as a whole.

Protocol of intent was signed during the meeting of Korea Association of Smart Home - KASH) Vice chairman Lee Choong Ho and LG CNS (part of KASH) Marketing director Kim Dae Young with the leadership of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and Tatarstan Development Corporation.
